Branding for Public Domain

The Public Domain is an art collaborative workspace in the heart of the arts & cultural district of Singapore. Their aim is to bring together like-minded creatives to make a difference for the community.

We created a complete visual and verbal personality to reflects the owners' passion, while reflecting the ground-up nature of their business model. The identity is warm, a little rough around the edges, but definitely warm and friendly. It takes visual cues from the owners' backgrounds from Chicago and Singapore, and the signs and ephemera from each country.

A system of stamps is the design solution to printing stationery. The stamps maintain the warm and relaxed feel of the branding and allow for a great variety of slogans, messages and logos to be used in multiple ways.

The stamps can also be combined for interesting visual effects, further adding to the typographic layering. The variety of printed matter they can be applied to reflects the myriad small businesses that reside in The Public Domain.

Various logos and messages allow for variety when used across print, digital and social media. We also designed three wall murals to decorate the space, as well as several posters and a sticker sheet/flyer.
